There are only two types of photos that come from straight on built in flash. The negatives are the red eye, over exposed harshly lit photos you get of your friends and family because of how close the flash is to the lens. The positives being awesome crime scene photos where the details of a crime are documented in straight on flash photography and tucked away in case files. Unfortunately, the majority of avid photographers are not crime scene investigators and we do not prefer to have amateur memories with red eye, squinting and all that comes with the harsh reality (and light) from built in flash.
